Art galleries & exhibitions in Istanbul

Istanbul is a city split across two continents, and much of its contemporary art sits on the European side, in and around Beyoğlu. The venues below are a mix of large institutional spaces, independent galleries and small street-level studios, and they are listed here in the order they appear in this guide.

Opening hours vary a good deal from one venue to the next, with some open most days and others on only a couple of afternoons a week. Check before you set out, particularly for the smaller spaces.

İstanbul Ottoman art

This venue is on Tayahatun sokak, a short street-level listing with no further details available here.

Sufi art house

Sufi art house is also on Tayahatun sokak, and the address is the only detail we can give for it.

No name art

No name art is located on Tayahatun sokak. Its address is the only verified detail for this entry.

Practical notes

Several of these venues are close together, so it is practical to plan a day around Beyoğlu. Confirm opening times by phone or website before you go, since REM Artspace opens only on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and SALT Beyoğlu closes earlier on Sundays. The Tayahatun sokak spaces have addresses but no published hours, so ring ahead or check on arrival.
