Parks and Gardens in Istanbul

Istanbul spreads across both sides of the Bosphorus, and the green spaces listed here reflect that range: a palace with a waterfront setting, several neighbourhood parks, a sports court and a long coastal park stretching between Harem and Üsküdar on the Asian shore.

Some of the entries sit in the older parts of the city, such as the Tekfur Sarayı area, while others are tucked into residential streets. The notes below give what has been verified for each place, and say nothing beyond that.

Tekfur Sarayı Parkı

Tekfur Sarayı Parkı is on Hekim Çelebi Street (Hekim Çelebi Ar.). It is run by İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.

Dolmabahçe Sarayı

Dolmabahçe Sarayı is a palace, and it has step-free access: the wheelchair entry is listed as yes. The official website is millisaraylar.gov.tr, under the Milli Saraylar pages for Dolmabahçe Sarayı.

Kalburcu Mehmet Parki

Kalburcu Mehmet Parki is located on Kalburcu Mehmet Çeşmesi Sokak, a small street name that reflects the park's neighbourhood setting.

Kırımlı park

Kırımlı park is on Simkeş Mevki Sokak.

Tekfur Sarayı Yaşam Parkı

Tekfur Sarayı Yaşam Parkı is another green space run by İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi, the same municipal body that operates Tekfur Sarayı Parkı nearby.

Harem-Üsküdar Arası Sahil Parkları

Harem-Üsküdar Arası Sahil Parkları is a set of coastal parks lying between Harem and Üsküdar on the Asian side of the city.

Basketbol Sahası

Basketbol Sahası is a basketball court listed among Istanbul's open green and recreational spaces.

Mehmet Akif Ersoy Parkı

Mehmet Akif Ersoy Parkı is a park named after the poet who wrote the Turkish national anthem.

Practical notes

Street addresses are given where they have been verified, and the Dolmabahçe Sarayı entry is the only one with a confirmed wheelchair access detail, so check opening hours directly before visiting any of these places. The municipal parks are best approached on foot or by local transport, and the coastal parks at Harem and Üsküdar suit an unhurried walk along the water.
